Information About Planning A Wedding at
Pleasant Home United Methodist Church

Planning your wedding is both an exciting and sacred time.
Thank you for considering us to be a part of this important religious time in your lives.
There are some basic guidelines we ask that you accept before you ask to have your wedding here at Pleasant Home United Methodist Church (PHUMC) of Gresham, Oregon.

1. That you and your fiancé are both professing Christians.
2. That you want God actively involved in your married life.
3. That you desire the blessing of God and the church on your   marriage.
4. That you are willing to participate fully in pre-marital   counseling with the pastor so that the day of the wedding ceremony will be the beginning of a fulfilling and joyful lifetime for both of you.

Pleasant Home United Methodist Church, which is on the historic register of United Methodist Churches, is truly a beautiful place to be married.  But the real beauty of your wedding will be through your faith and the covenant that you make together in the context of that Christian worship service. Your marriage is a personal covenant between two individuals and God, in which  you commit yourselves to a life long relationship together.  At its deepest level, Christian marriage is a faith covenant with God.

If this is what you want in your marriage service, then Pleasant Home United Methodist Church may be where you are looking for as the location of your wedding.

Most couples have a lot of questions about how to go about planning their wedding to make it the special day they envision.  Please contact us for more information.

Hopefully the information here will help you begin to make the decisions you need to make for your special day.

Getting started:

Once you have decided on location and the date it is time to contact the church, hopefully this is 6 months before your date. The earlier you make your reservation the better the chance a Pastor is available for your wedding date, as well, you will also need to schedule your pre-marital counseling sessions while allowing plenty of time for those appointments before the wedding.

I am looking forward to be working together with you in this journey!
